Low carb and delicious: You only need 10 minutes for this dinner

When you come home in the evening after a long day, you probably don’t feel like standing in the kitchen and cooking food for a long time.

But you can still prepare quick low-carb dinners and don’t have to resort to unhealthy fast food or delivery services.

Healthy no-carb dinner

For a quick dinner – or as a snack in between – you only need a few ingredients.

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 80ml vegetable broth
  • Iceberg lettuce or romaine lettuce – it is important that the lettuce has large leaves
  • Spices of your choice (e.g. chili, garlic, paprika)
  • 3 tablespoons Hot Sauce or similar sauce of your choice

Put the chickpeas in a saucepan with the spices, the hot sauce and the vegetable stock and let them simmer over medium heat until the liquid has evaporated.

Meanwhile, pull off whole leaves from the lettuce and wash them. Now you fill the lettuce leaves with the chickpeas – your low-carb dinner is ready, which will fill you up well thanks to the protein-rich chickpeas.

Ranch sauce or a low-calorie dip made from yogurt, garlic, herbs and spices works well as a topping.

If you are hungry, you can of course use wheat tortillas or protein wraps instead of salad.
