Doner kebab is tasty and especially welcome if you are really hungry but don’t have time to cook.
Unfortunately, due to the rich sauces and greasy meat, the snack has around 1,000kcal and is therefore not an ideal meal if you want to watch your diet.
It can also happen that the kebab is sometimes heavy in the stomach.
But you don’t have to do without the popular dish.
A light, lower-calorie version of this is the doner kebab salad. Not only is it low carb, but it only has about 300 to 400kcal per serving, so you can eat as much as you like.
This is how you prepare the kebab salad
For one serving you need the following ingredients:
- 150g chicken breast fillet (vegetarian alternative: soy strips or tofu)
- 200g iceberg lettuce
- a handful of tomatoes
- half a cucumber
- half a can of corn
- red cabbage (optional)
- optional: feta
- fresh parsley
For the healthy sauce alternative:
- 100g natural yoghurt
- garlic powder
- Fresh Parsley
- lemon juice

For the kebab salad, you first have to fry the meat or the vegetarian alternative. You can season the meat as you like or use a kebab seasoning so that the taste comes even closer to the original.
Then arrange the meat nicely with the chopped vegetables.
For the sauce, you simply mix all the ingredients together and then pour them over the salad.
The dish is particularly delicious if you top it with diced feta and fresh parsley at the end. The filling but light doner kebab salad is ready.
