Airing out the piece of wool well is enough to prevent unpleasant odours. Of course, there are circumstances where this is not sufficient. For adequate hygiene, washing can then preferably be done in the machine.
It is best to use the wool program for this, which should also not exceed 30 degrees. A wool detergent is also a good choice. This prevents the fibers from being roughened and the wool from becoming felted. Also, make sure you only fill your washing machine about half full. This also protects the fibers.
How to wash your wool sweaters:
- Washing machine rather than hand wash to avoid felting.
- Do not wash above 30 degrees in the wool program.
- Only fill the washing machine half full to protect the fibers.
- Use wool detergent.
