From 145 kilos to 65 kilos – that’s how Julia made it

It all started with my pregnancy in 2008. During this pregnancy I already gained almost 30 kilos. When my daughter was born in 2009, I didn’t give a damn about my figure.

I ate and ate without thinking about the consequences. My current partner eventually went long-distance. I was then alone with my daughter for the week and out of boredom I ate incredibly large amounts of unhealthy food – cake, fast food, kebab & Co.

This went on until the beginning of 2015, until a cake was on my diet a day. I no longer felt full.
I hardly played with my daughter and hardly ever went out because I just didn’t feel like it.

The weight loss journey starts with the help of a celebrity

Since I was a big fan of the Geissens, I became the fan club leader of the official Carmen Geiss fan club in 2014.

In 2015, Carmen Geiss launched her Kibootan fitness program, a program that combines kickboxing, boot camp and dancing.

At the beginning of the year she asked me if I would like to test her program for the fans. I said yes without hesitation, but figured I wouldn’t make it anyway. So now my way began.

First I started to change my diet. The program recommended the low carb diet and I started researching it all over the internet.

I started by always replacing one meal with a healthy meal, only drinking water and tea instead of soda.

Once I had some control over my diet, I began exercising 2-3 times a week using the workout videos in the program. Due to my weight of 145 kilos, I lasted a maximum of 10-15 minutes.

I was so exhausted after every training session that I actually didn’t want to continue.

“After the first changes, I got ambitious”

At that time there were no bathroom scales in my household.

At the beginning I weighed myself with my grandfather. My family has been telling me for a long time that I should definitely change something, but you don’t want to admit it.

When the first changes in the face and neck could be seen, my motivation grabbed me and I finally fought my weaker self.

After three months I got on the scale again and was amazed at myself. The first 20 kilos were gone. The program was now over and I had to decide how to continue.

I really wanted to know now and bought a used home trainer and cycled every day at home for 20-30 minutes and then kept increasing it until I was at 60 minutes a day at some point.

In addition, at some point I went walking and in the summer I went swimming in the outdoor pool.

I set up a gym at home and bought a weight bench and weights. I now train for 60 minutes of weight training and endurance every day.

Self-esteem grew with the lost kilos

When I reached my goal in 2016 after 18 months and 75 kilos less, I was so self-confident and strong that I separated from my husband.

I got back together with friends, went out and became a completely different person. Then I met my new partner.

I successfully maintained my weight for a few months, but then I got pregnant for the second time. At the end of March 2018 my little sunshine was born healthy and lively.

I gained another 50 pounds during this pregnancy. Since I knew how to lose weight, I started exercising regularly again after the birth.

Within six months I lost another 28 kilos. Today I still train five to six times a week and I have kept my diet the same as the first time.

“There are no more excuses for training”

When I train, my boyfriend watches the kids or I train quickly when the little one is asleep because there are no excuses.
Today I support people who suffer from their weight on their way.

At some point I want to get my coaching license. Today I weigh a whopping 65 kilos and wear a size 34/36 (from then I was 145 kilos with a size 54/56) and am successfully maintaining my weight.
